The Girl From Everywhere

The Girl From Everywhere is one of those less talked about books.
Heidi Heilig published the book in 2016. I happen to enjoy this young adult novel. You can count on adventure in this book as it centers around using maps from different centuries to travel in time. The captain teaches his daughter to authenticate maps so that they could travel from decade to decade in search for a time that his late wife is still alive. They end up on an island where the daughter makes friends with a local boy, the already struggling father and daughter relationship would suffer when the father makes a deal with the boy’s father which would harm the entire island. The book ends on a cliff hanger but, don’t worry! There is a sequel.

The Girl From Everywhere was completely underrated and under-appreciated. The book was very well written and will keep readers of all ages engaged. The Girl From Everywhere is one of those that will test your moral standing on a few topics and will make you think outside of the box.

“History and mythology fans will love this fast-moving ride through time, where mythological maps take Nix and the crew to real places with items and creatures true to the map’s design…This must-have fantasy adventure will appeal to fans of Rick Riordan’s ‘Kane Chronicles.’” (School Library Journal (starred review))

“One of my absolute favourite reads of 2016 Heidi Heilig’s debut captured me completely from the first page. A lushly written time-traveling adventure with an imaginative magical twist, real heart and real
