Dark Matter was written by Blake Crouch and published by Blake Crouch in 2016. This book is a science fiction novel and a must read for anyone interested in dimension hopping and time travel. The book is hard to explain but I will do my best as I think it is one of the best sifi novels ever written.
The book centered around Jason Dessen. His college classmate, Ryan Holder invited him to a party celebrating his scientific accomplishments. Jason tries to be happy for his friend while internally fuming with jealousy. Ryan has everything that the he gave up to marry his now adored wife. Ryan has published theories that have landed him amazing career opportunities and the ladies hang onto his very word. Mean while Jason only had his low paying job as a physics professor and his wife’s income. When Daniel became pregnant with Charlie, Jason set aside his dreams to marry his pregnant girlfriend and care for their child. Even though Jason loves his family, he wishes he could have been successful like his friend Ryan.
After sneaking away from the party, he decided to forgo the taxi and just walk home in his drunken state. He is then kidnapped, dragged into an abandoned wearhouse injected with an unidentified serum and dumped. The masked man pushed him into a tunnel and tried to live in Jason’s shoes. Jason comes out of the tunnel greeted by people has never met, pushed into what looks to be a television interview, mean while his kidnapped is trying to adjust to his new role as the Jason his family knew.
I will leave the discrimination there as I do not want to give to much away! This book is absolutely brilliant and unique. Every twist and turn will keep you in the edge of your seat. A true page turnner. the moral of the story is simply to appreciate what you have. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with a passion for sci-fi! I could read this book again and again.
