Misery by Stephen king

I know this one is older but, I love Stephen King books written before 2016 and I have never read The Misery. Now, I’ve seen the movie and I stick behind my belief that the book is always better than the movie. You just get so much more detail than a movie could ever give you. If you did not know, Misery is about a famous author getting kidnapped by his “number one fan” Ms. Anne after Pauls’ car crashes during a snow storm. Now I know, we have all had day dreams about kidnapping our favorite celebrity but, Anne goes about it all the wrong way! If I ever got a chance to kidnap my favorite author, I would not torture them like she does but, she’s got some serious mental issues. I want to pick her brains! Stephen King really captured her personality in a very realistic way. Paul also was very well-developed as a character and I like that Stephen king did not forget to include the struggles of pain while Paul fought for survival. I find that many authors can have tunnel vision when telling a story. But, Stephen King has really captured every aspect of the situation and described it in such a fashion, you feel as if you are in the same room as Paul and Anne. Through all of Pauls trials and tribulations, we gain a more emotional connection not only to him but, also Anne. In a weird book addict kind of way I really loved both characters.

If you ever get the chance, I recommend that you put this on your TBR (to be read) list. Being that this book is very detailed, keep in mind some parts might make you uncomfortable. I for one loved it, but, if you are not into blood, guts, and tears, I would recommend skipping over certain sections. For instants, the part where she demobilized him. Just, skim that part. All in all 9/10. I scored the book this way because of the ending. Now, there is nothing wrong witht the ending, I would have just prefered something different.
