Under The Dome by Stephen King

If you are looking for a unique story about survival in an apocalypse then The Dome by Stephen King might be right up your ally. When an invisible force field surrounds this small town in Maine. The walls are as clear as glass, strong enough to withstand torpedo’s.

If you’re looking for a good long book (1000+ pages) then this one might be worth it. Stephen King shows how quickly neighbors can turn against one another when faced with an unseen enemy. In only a few short days, the sanity of an entire town collapses. The ring leader, a very manipulative man, takes control and goes beyond reasonable political jabbing to gain and keep his position. Will the town survive? Will the towns people figure out who or what caused this dome? Are the headaches and seizures related in any way to radiation coming from whatever created these invisible walls? Are the string of murders related to the dome or is the murder using the situation to quinch their thirst?

I am actually very glad that I was reading this book on my iPhone. I could not put this book down but with the audio book option, I didn’t have to. I was still ever to sink into the dome while doing house work. If you choose to read this book, plan to a few days to just read or do what I did because this was to good to put down. There are no zombies but, the actions of the characters could very well take their place. If you take away someones freedom, they will in the end fight amongst themselves.
